Credit Card Statement Display

Your card statement will show "SMFANS" or the name of our payment processor. The specific content you purchased will not appear on the statement.

If you see a charge you don't recognize, please contact Support.

If a Payment Fails

Possible causes include:

  • Your card has expired
  • You've exceeded your credit limit
  • 3D Secure authentication failed

Please verify your card information or try a different card. If the issue persists, contact your card issuer.

What Is the Wallet?

The wallet is a prepaid balance (top-up balance) that can be used within SMFans. By topping up (adding funds) in advance, you can use it for the following payments:

  • Purchasing content
  • Paying for monthly plans
  • Sending tips
About top-up balance and earnings balance

The wallet top-up balance is exclusively for purchasing content. Creator earnings are managed separately as an "earnings balance" and are used for payout requests. You cannot make a payout directly from your top-up balance.

How to Top Up

  1. Open the "Wallet" screen
  2. Select a top-up amount from the following:
    • ¥1,000 / ¥5,000 / ¥10,000 / ¥30,000 / ¥50,000 / ¥100,000
  3. Confirm your payment method
  4. Tap the "Top Up" button
  5. Complete the payment on the checkout screen
Wallet balance limit

The maximum wallet balance is 1,000,000 yen. You cannot top up beyond this limit.

Wallet Balance Expiration

Wallet balance (including new-user bonus amounts) has an expiration of 180 days from the top-up date. Any unused balance past the expiration date is automatically forfeited and can no longer be used.

  • Consumption order: The top-ups closest to their expiration date are consumed first
  • Expiration processing: Unused amounts past their expiration are forfeited daily at 5:00 (JST)
  • History display: Forfeited top-ups appear in your wallet history as "Cancelled · Expired"
  • Refunds: Once topped up, balances are non-refundable except where required by law

For details, please see Article 15 (Wallet) of the Terms of Use and the Notation under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions.

Checking Your Top-Up History

You can view your top-up and payment history from the "History" tab on the "Wallet" screen.

  1. Open "Account"
  2. Tap "Wallet"
  3. Tap the "History" tab

The history lists all transactions including top-ups, auto top-ups, purchases, and tips as money movements.

Want to check details of purchased content?

The wallet history is for reviewing "how much was spent" in time order. To check details such as which posts/plans you bought or to re-watch purchased content, please use Purchase History and Library respectively.

What Is Auto Top-Up?

Auto top-up is a feature that automatically charges the shortfall from your registered credit card when your wallet balance is insufficient — for any payment, including monthly plan subscriptions/renewals, tips, single-post purchases, and back-issue purchases (difference-based charging). Auto top-up uses a credit card only (cryptocurrency and PayPal cannot be used for auto top-up).

The minimum amount needed to cover the shortfall (rounded up to the nearest 1,000 yen) is charged, and if the post-charge balance would exceed the wallet limit (1,000,000 yen) it is adjusted accordingly.

Auto top-up must be set up before you can subscribe to a monthly plan.

You must enable auto top-up before subscribing to any monthly plan. If it is not set up, the subscription itself will be rejected. This is to prevent unintended access loss due to renewal failures.

Auto Top-Up Settings

You can configure this from the "Auto Top-Up" tab on the "Wallet" screen.

How to Enable Auto Top-Up

  1. Open the "Wallet" screen
  2. Tap the "Auto Top-Up" tab
  3. Tap "Enable Auto Top-Up"
  4. Register your credit card information
  5. Setup complete

How to Disable Auto Top-Up

  1. Open the "Wallet" screen
  2. Tap the "Auto Top-Up" tab
  3. Tap "Disable Auto Top-Up"
  4. Tap "Disable" on the confirmation screen to complete
You cannot disable auto top-up while you have active plans.

If you have any active monthly plans, tapping the disable button will show a message asking you to cancel all plans first. After cancellation, you can re-enable auto top-up at any time within the remaining paid period.

If auto top-up payment fails
  • Tips, single-post purchases, back-issue purchases (on-demand top-ups): If auto top-up fails, the related purchase is also cancelled. Please make sure your card information is up to date.
  • Monthly plan auto-renewal: The plan moves into the "Renewal failed (failed)" state. Automatic retries are not performed. After confirming your payment method, tap "Re-subscribe" on the "Active Plans" page (a new billing cycle starts from the re-subscription date).

New User Bonus

For 30 days from registration, all top-ups (manual, auto, and custom amounts) receive a bonus of 5% of the top-up amount, added automatically to your wallet balance.

  • Example: Topping up 10,000 yen gives a 500 yen bonus (10,500 yen added to your balance)
  • Top-ups of 1,000 yen or more per transaction are eligible for the bonus (top-ups below 1,000 yen do not receive a bonus)
  • If the bonus would push your balance over the wallet limit (1,000,000 yen), the excess is not granted
  • The bonus is treated the same as the original top-up amount, including the same 180-day expiration
Topping up within 30 days of registration is the most cost-effective option.

Wallet Balance Refund Policy

Wallet balance is generally non-refundable except where required by law.

Wallet balance is also not refunded upon account deletion, so please use it up before deleting your account.

Your wallet balance will be forfeited if you delete your account. If you are considering deleting your account, make sure to use up your balance beforehand.

If you have any questions, please contact Support.
